One of the most special parts of our road trip in Costa Rica was staying at the Wild Sun Rescue Center, a nonprofit organization based in Cabuya, situated next to a major surf hub Montezuma.The center works with volunteer veterinarians to save injured wildlife and release them back into the jungle. Animals vary from howler monkeys that confuse electric cables for vines, and beautiful scarlet macaws that are often pulled into an illegal pet trade.On the day of our stay, a boa constrictor was brought in, who had been cut from a machete.@wildsunrescue has a hotel, and proceeds go to medical treatments for animals and projects to protect them 🐒 🦜🐍#costarica #travel #travelcostarica #wildlife
